Paul D. Branning, Sr.

Paul D. Branning, Sr. - 74, of Souderton, PA entered into the presence of his Lord on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at his residence.

He was the loving husband of Janice Marie (Yerger) Branning for 52 years. Paul was born in Oakdale, PA to the late Walter B. Branning, Sr. and the late Nellie B. (Carr) Branning.

He attended Har-Brack High School, class of 1955. Paul served in the US Navy for 4 years from whence came forth his adventurous spirit. After being discharged, he spent several years in various skilled labor jobs before partnering with his brothers, Judson & Walter, to form Branning Brothers Steelcraft. In 1963, Paul founded and operated Branning Steel Erectors which is still in business to date.

He will be remembered for his love of traveling, especially in his big red bus, and his gift for vivacious story telling. Paul was a connoisseur of "fine" foods which he shared generously with his friends and family. His main love and passion were his children and grandchildren on whom he showered his love and affection. Paul was known not only for his physical strength and enthusiasm for life, but more importantly for his spiritual leadership and selflessness.

Following the example of the Word of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, he lived his life by the principle "that it is far more blessed to give than to receive." He graciously endowed others with the fruits of his labor which was demonstrated through his financial benevolence to anyone in need. Paul often told his wife that this was possible "all because two people fell in love."

He was a charter member of Trinity Bible Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters; Beth Styer & husband, Kevin of Telford, PA, Cathy Eppley & husband, James of Bechtelsville, PA, Laurie Kemmerer & husband, Michael of Fleetwood, PA, Linda Dawn Weigner of Hatfield, PA; his son, Paul Branning, Jr. & wife, Sherri of Quakertown, PA; his two sisters; Roslind Waltenbaugh of Sarver, PA and Dorcas Mae Branning of Souderton, PA; his three brothers; Calvin Branning & wife, Etta of Anniston, AL, Judson Branning of Souderton, PA, David Branning & wife, Gloria of Trexlertown, PA; his sister-in-law, Anna Branning of Sellersville, PA; 33 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Walter B. Branning, Jr. and his granddaughter, Lucinda Rose Weigner.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 11:00 am at Faith Baptist Church, 700 N. Main Street, Sellersville, Pennsylvania 18960 where friends may view and meet with the family from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM.

Burial will take place at Sellersville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Jefferson Pancreatic, Bilary and Related Cancer Center, 1015 Walnut Street, Curtis Building, Suite 620 Philadelphia, PA 19107.
