Lester L. Halteman

Lester L. Halteman - 79, of Souderton, PA went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

He was the loving husband of Mildred A. (Kolb) Halteman for 59 years. Lester was born in Franconia, PA to the late Melvin C. & Laura (Landis) Halteman.

Lester was a self-employed butcher at the Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia, PA and later worked at the Twin Streams Campground in Morris, PA.

He was a member of Perkiomenville Mennonite Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four daughters; Deborah Garges & husband, Henry of Harleysville, PA, Cheryl M. Horn of Souderton, PA, Carla Haflett & husband Lyle of Troy, PA, Connie M. Halteman of Soddy Daisy, TN; his two sons, Dennis L Halteman of Green Lane, PA, Richard Halteman & wife, Jill of Souderton, PA; 18 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren; his six sisters, Sarah Kulp of Souderton, PA, Eva Godshall & husband, Ernest of Souderton, PA, Florence Weaver of Souderton, PA, Kathryn Detweiler of Silverdale, PA, Loretta Miller & husband, Omar of Franconia, PA, Margaret Allebach & husband, Gerald of Hershey, PA and a brother, Russell Halteman & wife, Kathryn of Souderton, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher D. Halteman and a grandson, Chet Halteman.

Viewings will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Franconia Mennonite Church from 6 PM – 8 PM and on Monday, July 9, 2012 at Franconia Mennonite Church from 9AM – 10:30 AM.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 11:00 am at Franconia Mennonite Church, 613 Harleysville Pike, Telford, Pennsylvania 18969.

Burial will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
