Obituary

Alice (Baston) McCauley , 88, of Sellersville, PA; formerly of Telford, PA went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at The Community at Rockhill.

She was the loving wife of the late Harold J. McCauley for 49 years. Alice was born in Woodstock, NH to the late Newton H. Baston and the late Mildred A. (Gilman) Baston.

She graduated from Woodstock High School in Woodstock, NH, class of 1950. Alice graduated from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH with a bachelor's degree in bacteriology in 1954. She then received a bachelor's degree in education from Gwynedd Mercy College in Gwynedd Valley, PA.

Alice was employed as a bacteriologist for Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp in Philadelphia & West Point for 5 years. She then worked as a public school teacher for the Pennridge School District for 25 years.

She was a former member of Faith Baptist Church in Sellersville where she was active in the church's Awana Children's Ministry and the church nursery. Alice was an active volunteer at Faith Christian Academy. She was currently a member of First Baptist Church of Perkasie.

Alice was a member of the Women's Club of the Indian Valley.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing especially for the grandkids, quilting, reading, and loved playing games with friends and the residents of The Community at Rockhill.

Alice had a true passion for teaching and loved teaching even in her retirement years. Her goal for her students was to benefit and excel from education.

Alice was an independent, socially outgoing woman who had a good sense of humor, was a great organizer, and was competitive but didn't always have to win.

She is survived by her four children, David A. McCauley & wife, Diane of Green Lane, PA, Joan E. Littlefield & husband, Scott of Souderton, PA, Christopher L. McCauley & wife, Christine of Boerne, TX, and Daniel N. McCauley & wife, Michelle of Green Lane, PA; her eight grandchildren – Dylan, Brooke, Brandon, Connor, Marra, Raina, Martina, & Zach; and her four great-grandchildren – Jamison, Griffin, Dawson, & Coralyn.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Thelma Sandquist, Dorothy Caldon, and Virginia Clark.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Faith Christian Academy, 2255 Allentown Road, Quakertown, PA. 18951 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am.
