Allen L. Detweiler , 76, of Harleysville, PA entered into rest on Friday, December 22, 2023 at his residence.
Allen was the loving husband of Phyllis (Clinton) Detweiler for 56 years. He was born in Sellersville, PA to the late Allen S. Detweiler and the late Jean (Detwiler) Detweiler.
Allen graduated from Souderton Area High School, class of 1965. He worked as a welder for the former Artco Corporation in Hatfield, PA. He was then employed in multiple positions in manufacturing for Clemens Food Group in Hatfield, PA for 40 years.
Allen was a lifetime member of Blooming Glen Mennonite Church. He was a former member of the Souderton-Harleysville Game, Fish and Forestry Association in Tylersport, PA.
Allen enjoyed fly fishing, hunting, traveling, gardening, and photography. He was an avid bowler and played on a bowling league with Earl Bowl in Earlington where he bowled two perfect games. He was a huge trivia buff and had a gift of remembering things of interest to him.
Allen was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Allen Troy Detweiler & wife, Beth of Perkasie, PA; his two granddaughters, Alicia Marie Lohse & husband, Ben of Harleysville, PA, Alexis Joy Caruso & husband, Anthony of Harleysville, PA; his great-granddaughter, Reya Marie Lohse of Harleysville, PA; his great-grandson, Miles Kevin Lohse of Harleysville, PA; and his sister, Joanne McKurdy & husband, Bob of North Wales, PA.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 713 Blooming Glen Road, Blooming Glen, PA 18911 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am.
Inurnment will take place at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church Columbarium.
