Obituary

Ann Elliott (Turner) Boyer , 102, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Willow Grove, PA went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Belle Haven Nursing Home in Quakertown.

She was the loving wife of the late James D. Boyer for 52 years. Ann was born in Bryn Mawr, PA to the late William Murphy Turner and the late Mary (Jefferson) Turner.

She graduated from Germantown High School in Philadelphia, PA. Ann was a self-employed hairdresser serving shut-ins throughout the Willow Grove/Hatboro area for more than 25 years.

She was an active lifelong member of the Willow Grove United Methodist Church where she founded the 'Widow's Group', was president of the Women's Society of Christian Service, and was a former Sunday school teacher & youth group leader. Ann was a current member of Immanuel Leidy's Church in Souderton.

She founded the Brownies Troop #584 in Willow Grove and was a former Girl Scout Troop #1136 Leader in Willow Grove.

Ann loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Over her many years in Willow Grove She enjoyed entertaining guests in their home especially her social group of neighborhood friends.  Ann was an avid reader of books and kept up on current events regularly. She enjoyed traveling to Maine, Florida and England. A favorite activity was watching the old time black and white movies.

Ann was a hardworking, loving, spunky woman who had a good sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh. As her grandson David described her, "Grammie has always been a guiding light to us, she has given selflessly and has always looked for the good in others, especially her family."

She is survived by her two daughters, Adria A. Butler & husband, Thomas of Abington, PA, Lois E. Boyer of Quakertown, PA; her seven grandchildren, Rachel Ann Alexander of Silver Spring, MD, Matthew James Butler & wife, Robyn of Burke, VA, Stephen Thomas Butler & wife, Amy of Haddon Heights, NJ, Leah Alissa O'Connor & husband, Michael of Quakertown, PA, Elizabeth Mary Serratore-Wentzel & husband, Christopher of Quakertown, PA, Sarah Elizabeth Hamilton & husband, Tony of Warrington, PA, & David Adrian Butler & wife, Kelleen of Abington, PA; her 12 great-grandchildren, Charlotte Ann Butler of Burke, VA, Shane Gregory O'Connor of Quakertown, PA, Emma Elizabeth Wentzel of Quakertown, PA, Abby Marie Butler of Burke, VA, Michaela Alissa O'Connor of Quakertown, PA, Hannah Elizabeth Butler of Haddon Heights, NJ, Nathan Grey David of Silver Spring, MD, Jackson Thomas Butler of Haddon Heights, NJ, James Lewis Hamilton of Warrington, PA, Ethan Thomas Hamilton of Warrington, PA, Nicole Grace Butler of Abington, PA, & Alexandra Lynn Butler of Abington, PA; and many Nieces & Nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Nicole Ann Butler, her grandson, Paul Joseph Serratore, her brother, Allen Turner, and her sister, Lillian "Bee" Neeson.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 11:00 am at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002.

Burial will take place at Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
