Obituary

Anna "Annie" Mae (Detweiler) Boehret , 81, of Souderton, PA; went to her eternal home on Monday, November 6, 2023 at Grand View Hospital.

She was the loving wife of William "Bill" Boehret for 34 years. Annie was born in Telford, PA to the late Paul Detweiler and the late Maggie (Frederick) Detweiler.

She graduated from Christopher Dock Mennonite High School, and was employed by Friendly Sales of Quakertown, PA.

She was an active participant of Souderton Brethren in Christ Church where she cared for the children during Sunday school, children's worship and Monday night Kingdom Kids. She could also be found aiding the church in the kitchen when needed.

During her time as a housemother at Christ's Home of Warminster, PA Annie loved to worship with the children by singing and playing songs of praise on her guitar.

Annie served her community by volunteering at the Care & Share Thrift Shoppes of Souderton, PA. She volunteered her musical talents as a pianist and vocalist at Neshaminy Manor, where she met her loving husband. Together, they also served in Philadelphia providing aid and support to refugees.

Throughout her life, Annie enjoyed playing the piano, tending to her flowers and vegetable garden, interacting with people and playing card games such as Hand and Foot, Dutch Blitz and more. What brought her the most joy in life was spending her time with family and friends.

Annie will be remembered as a caring, compassionate and selfless woman with a deep Christian faith that was always outgoing, sociable, and easily recognizable by her unmistakable laugh.

In addition to her husband, Annie is survived by her sister, Miriam Rice, and husband Albert of Pipersville, PA; her Sister-in-law, Susan Detweiler of Souderton, PA; her four nieces, Glenda Wismer, and husband Glenn, Sherry Santamaria, and husband Tom, Cinda Luecke, and Betsy Krell; and her two nephews, Michael Moyer, and wife Lori, and Dave Rice, and wife Kelli.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Detweiler.
