Anna (Alderfer) Meyers , age 96, of Telford, PA, formerly of Sellersville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 23, 2026, at the Lutheran Community at Telford.
She shared 72 years of loving marriage with her late husband, Harvey E, Meyers. Born in Perkasie, PA, Anna was the daughter of the late Arthur L. and Anna K. (Keller) Alderfer.
Anna attended the former Irish Meeting House one room school in Bedminster Township through 8th grade. During her childhood and teenage years, she worked part time on the family farm assisting with the chickens, in addition to the barn and field work. After 8th grade she worked full time on the family farm and eventually began working as a hosiery mill employee in Dublin, PA which continued through her early years of marriage. In 1953 after her first child, a daughter, was born, she became a full-time homemaker, followed by a son who was born in 1957. In 1967 she began employment in a Perkasie, PA clothing factory, then went to work in food production at Mrs. Paul's, Doylestown, PA for 10 years and Myers Foods, Plumsteadville, PA for 7 years, until retirement.
A woman of deep faith, Anna was a lifelong member of Deep Run Mennonite Church East, where she helped with Summer Bible School, served as a youth leader with her husband, prepared food for many functions and generously gave of her time in many areas of service throughout the years. Along with her husband, she served as a Sunday morning church greeter for many years.
Family was an important part of Anna's life. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Wendy L. (Alan) Delp of Souderton, PA; her son, Garland L. (Joan) Meyers of Schwenksville, PA; her granddaughters, Katelyn M. (Ryan) Gross and Alicia M. (Elbert) Myers, both of Perkasie, PA; her step-grandson, Benjamin A. (Grace) Delp of Marietta, PA; her seven great-grandchildren, Dylan, Olivia, Brayden, Mason, Molly, Kayleigh, and Elliott; her five step-great-grandchildren, Naisa, Yonah, Judah, Yasha, and Nia; and her brother, A. James (Ruth) Alderfer of Telford.
In addition to her beloved husband, Anna was preceded in death by her sisters, Arlene Histand, Marion Meyers, and Evelyn Meyers.
Anna frequently opened her home serving delicious homemade meals to family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking, working in the garden and the flower beds. Throughout life, her greatest joy was helping others. Anna enjoyed traveling with Harvey, exploring destinations across the western United States, Florida, New England, Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, and Puerto Rico.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Deep Run Mennonite Church East, 350 Kellers Church Road, Perkasie, PA 18944. A viewing will take place from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service.
Private interment will follow at another time in the Deep Run Mennonite Church East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Deep Run Mennonite Church East at the address above.
