Arthur "Art" Nelson Garis , 92, of Pennsburg, PA; formerly of Telford, PA & Souderton, PA passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Pennsburg Manor.

He was the loving husband of the late Harriet (Rugh) Garis for 52 years. Arthur was born in Souderton, PA to the late Elmer D. Garis and the late Vera (Hummel) Garis.

Arthur attended the Souderton Area High School, class of 1950. He enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean War following his high school days.

Arthur worked as a lumber worker and deliveryman for Shelly & Fenstermacher in Souderton. He was then employed as a woodworker for Knoll International in East Greenville, PA for more than 20 years

Arthur was a lifetime member of Silverdale Brethren in Christ Church.

He loved sports and going to sporting events, especially baseball. Arthur loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved annual family trips to Ocean City, NJ. Arthur enjoyed traveling to visit family. His favorite colors were red and orange and his favorite baseball players were Ted Williams, Stan Musial, and Pete Rose.

He was a hardworking, outgoing, sociable, caring, honest man.

Arthur survived by his son, Eric N. Garis & wife, Alissa "Lisa" of Telford, PA; his five grandchildren – Eric, Jr., Joseph, Amanda, Lauren, Matt; his great-granddaughter, Julianna Hansen; and his four sisters, Elizabeth Dawn Garis of Garner, NC, Emily Suzanna Boyer of Richlandtown, PA, Shirley Sara Fox of Souderton, PA, and June Jeannette Landis of Souderton, PA.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Todd M. Garis and his nine siblings, Elmer Franklin Garis, Vera Kathrine Charles, Robert "Bobby" Burdette Garis, Elsie "Dolly" Audre Hyer, Ellen Esther Collis, Ida Buvell Bencsik, Paul Maynard Garis, Leroy Delano Garis, and Alma Burnadine Fulmer.

A viewing will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Silverdale Brethren in Christ Church, 165 W. Main St, Silverdale, PA 18962 from 9:30 am - 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.

Burial will take place at Silverdale Brethren in Christ Church Cemetery.
