Arthur "Art" W. Detweiler, 94, of Danboro, Pennsylvania went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Neshaminy Manor.

He was the loving husband of Irene (Anders) Detweiler for 72 years. Art was born in Perkasie, Pennsylvania to the late Clayton R. Detweiler and the late Alice (Wismer) Detweiler.

He worked as a salesman for the former Hycross Hatchery in Doylestown and later for the former Pennington & Pealer in Sellersville. Art worked as a self-employed house painter 'Arthur Detweiler Painter' in Danboro, PA. He then worked as a salesman for Independent Buyers Association in Millbury, MA.

He was a member of Line Lexington Mennonite Church where he formerly served as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent and sang in a church quartet. He was on the board of directors for the Plumstead Christian School.

Art enjoyed camping, watching baseball, bike riding with the group 'Outspoken', and singing in various choral groups. He loved singing, making homemade ice cream, and sweets.

Art was hardworking, outgoing and loving man who had good sense of humor and loved talking to people.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Patricia I. VanArtsdalen & husband, Robert of Dublin, PA; his four grandchildren, Jamie M. Coughenhour & husband, Corey of Perkasie, PA, Clifford L. VanArtsdalen of Dublin, PA, Ashley A. Fretz & husband, Troy of Perkasie, PA, Kohl Detweiler of Danboro, PA; his eight great-grandchildren – Chloe, Camryn, Jayden, Kaylyn, Steven, Taylor, Hannah, & Trevor; his two brothers, Elmer Detweiler & wife, Alice of Souderton, PA, Chester Detweiler & wife, Janet of Lederach, PA; his two sisters, Cora Longacre of Franconia, PA, Mary Ann Nyce of Souderton, PA; and his sister-in-law, Mary Emma Detweiler of Souderton, PA.

In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his son, Douglas A. Detweiler; his daughter, Jennifer L. Detweiler; two sisters, Ella Mae Landis & Ruth Gehman; his five brothers, Lloyd Detweiler, Warren Detweiler, Claude Detweiler, Clayton Detweiler, Raymond Detweiler; and his brother-in-law, Cleon Nyce & Ken Longacre.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and time at Line Lexington Mennonite Church, 80 Hilltown Pike, Line Lexington, Pennsylvania 18932.

Inurnment will take place at Deep Run Mennonite Cemetery East.
