Obituary

Betty L. (Metz) Myers , 89, of Quakertown, PA; formerly of Harleysville, PA went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 20, 2024 at LifeQuest Nursing Center.

She was born in Abington, PA and raised by the late Titus G. Metz and the late Anna (Houpt) Metz Alderfer.

Betty was employed as a Sales and Reservations Specialist for various businesses. Also, she was employed as a Ticket Agent by Northwest Airlines in the Allentown Airport.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for Perkasie Volunteer Fire Company, the Harleysville Senior Center, and the Activities Department for Life Quest.

Betty was a life member of Towamencin Mennonite Church where she belonged to the ladies sewing circle and formerly taught a girl's youth Bible school class.

She was very devoted to her family and hosted children from the Fresh Air Program. Betty loved music and dancing and most recently enjoyed playing the drums and piano. She enjoyed bus tours and traveling to the mountains, the lake, and the shore. Betty was a great socializer and a lover of dogs and cats. She had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.

Betty is survived by her five children, Linda Edmonds & husband, Tony of Tioga Center, NY, Deborah Moyer of Green Lane, PA, David Moyer of St. Augustine, FL, M. Lynn Kymer of Sumner, WA, & Dennette Myers of Bryn Mawr, PA; her eight grandchildren – Tara, Melissa, Ryan, Jennifer, David Jr., Heather, Corinne, & Sarah; and her 14 great-grandchildren – Christian, Hunter, Aidan, Clay, Audrey, Andrew, Shay, Kylee, Braden, Bryson, Tanner, Vayda, Gentry, & Elliot.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Towamencin Mennonite Church, 1980 Sumneytown Pike, Kulpsville, PA 19443, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. The service will be Livestreamed at:

Burial will take place at Towamencin Mennonite Cemetery.
