Betty Velez-DeJesus , 73, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Pennsburg, PA & Sinking Spring, PA entered into rest on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Grand View Hospital.

Betty was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico to the late Hipolito Velez and the late Tomasa DeJesus.

She graduated from Dr. Pila High School in Ponce, Puerto Rico, class of 1970.

Betty was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and cooking for them. She enjoyed watching TV, trying new things, dining out especially seafood, and traveling.

Betty was an independent, caring, compassionate woman who loved to laugh and had a good sense of humor.

She is survived by her son, Alex Torres & wife, Monica of Katy, TX; her two daughters, Desiree Torres of Souderton, PA, Aileen Cabrera & husband, Eric Branch of Magnolia, NJ; her three grandsons, Alex Muniz of Souderton, PA, Kenneth Ojeda of Souderton, PA, Roberto Rosado of Green Lane, PA; her two granddaughters, Aleyka Torres of Katy, TX, Amanda Torres of Katy, TX; and her sister, Josefita Troche of Ponce, Puerto Rico.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Dayleen Rosado; her sister, Evelyn Garcia; and her brother, Hector Quirindongo.

A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 10:00 am at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, PA 18964, followed by an informal visitation at 11:00 am.
