Obituary

Carol Ann (Knechel) Alderfer , 72, of Harleysville, PA; went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 21, 2021.

She was the loving wife of Harold "Ollie" D. Alderfer for 53 years. Carol was born in Lansdale, PA to the late Frank A. Knechel and the late Kathryn (Heebner) Knechel.

She graduated from Mifflinburg High School, class of 1966.  Carol began working for Harleysville Insurance after High School.  She then spent many years as a Homemaker until she went back to work as a Manager at the Harleysville Exxon until she retired.

Carol loved spending time with her family and attending her grandsons' sporting events. She was their biggest fan and loved sharing stories of all their accomplishments. Carol also had a love of gardening and reading a good book.

In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by her two loving daughters, Melissa S. Wood & husband, Todd of Quakertown, PA, & Katrina "Katie" Santora & husband, Joseph of Perkasie, PA; her six beloved grandsons – Lukas, Noah, Ryan, Joey, Michael & Danny; her sisters, Jane H. Ferrence & husband, Herbert of Souderton, PA, & Karen Kahler of Watsontown, PA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her newborn daughter, Melanie Ann; & her two brothers, Ray Knechel and Kenneth H. Knechel.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Towamencin Mennonite Church, 1980 Sumneytown Pike, Kulpsville, Pennsylvania 19443 from 10:00 am - 11:30 am.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 following the Visitation for Carol and her husband, Harold "Ollie" who died May 30, 2021.

Burial will take place at Towamencin Mennonite Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions of your choice may be made in her memory.
