Carole M. Lancaster , 85, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, formerly of New York, New York, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Park Lane Post Acute in West Chester.

Born in Bridgeton, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late George Lancaster and the late Margaret C. (Trumbore) Lancaster.

Carole was a 1959 graduate of Souderton Area High School and graduated from the University of Tennessee where she received her bachelor's degree. She went on to build a distinguished career in human resources, serving for more than 20 years as a Human Resources Manager—and later Director—for the Girl Scouts of America in New York City.

A longtime resident of Manhattan, Carole made her home in the Gramercy Park neighborhood on the East Side. She was also a dedicated volunteer with the United Nations, reflecting her lifelong interest in global affairs and service to others.

In her youth, Carole attended Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Souderton with her family.

Carole had a deep appreciation for travel and explored much of Europe over the years. She enjoyed following current events, cheering on Penn State football, and spending time with her family. She especially loved New York City's vibrant cultural life, including frequent visits to the theater and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

She will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, and patient woman with a steady and thoughtful nature. Carole cared deeply for her family, took great interest in their lives, and was especially supportive of her brother's endeavors.

She is survived by her brother, George David "Dave" Lancaster of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania; and her cousins, Jeffrey A. Trumbore and his wife, Heidi, of Dumfries, Virginia, and Loyce Ann Casmey and her husband, Danny, of Wooster, Ohio.

A private graveside service will be held at St. Andrew's Union Cemetery in Perkasie. Interment will follow at the cemetery.
