Charles "Chuck" V. Walt , 78, of New York, NY; formerly of Downingtown, PA & Lansdale, PA passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Grand View Hospital.

He was the loving husband of the late Connie E. Walt for 47 years. Charles was born in Lansdale, PA to the late Vincent Walt and the late Gladys (Huber) Walt.

He graduated from North Penn High School in Lansdale, PA, class of 1962. Charles attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. He later graduated from Muhlenberg College, class of 1967 and then from the University of Michigan where he received his Masters of Business Administration.

From 1969-1971, Charles served in Germany in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed as an accountant for The American Institute of Physics in Manhattan, NY and later in Long Island, NY for a total of 28 years.

Charles was a member of the New York Road Runners. He was also a member of numerous theatrical organizations in New York and London. Charles was a member and avid supporter of the Metropolitan Opera.

He ran in over 30 marathons in various locations throughout the United States and abroad including the New York Marathon 17 times, the Boston Marathon 4 times and even the London Marathon. Charles enjoyed traveling the world. He was a dedicated Michigan Wolverines fan often traveling to see them play.

Charles is survived by his sister, Evelyn Janisheck of Lansdale, PA; his brother-in-law, Jeffery L. Schatz & wife, Debra of Sellersville, PA; his three sisters-in-law, Cynthia Gross & husband, Jeffrey of Macungie, PA, Joann Schatz of Souderton, PA, Marlene Schatz of Dublin, PA; and his many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and time.
