Christine “Chris” M. (Dengler) Knechel, 65, of Souderton, Pennsylvania, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at her residence.

Chris was born in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, to the late Junior Dengler and the late Laura (Hauptly) Dengler. She was a graduate of Souderton Area High School, Class of 1979.

Chris dedicated her career to engineering and was employed by several area companies throughout the years, including the former Sprague Electric Company in Warminster, the former Eltech in Horsham, and the former Delbar Products in Perkasie. She was most recently employed as an engineer with Penn Manufacturing Industries (PMI) in Montgomeryville, where she worked for more than 20 years.

Chris was a member of Hatfield American Legion Post 933, the Cannoneers Sportsmen’s Club in Lansdale, and the National Rifle Association.

She enjoyed traveling, especially throughout the East Coast and across the United States. She loved camping, spending time in the mountains, attending concerts, and cheering on her beloved Philadelphia EAGLES. Most of all, Chris cherished her family and was always present for family events, gatherings, and celebrations. She was especially devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandson and took great joy in being an active part of their lives.

Chris was a hardworking, honest, patient, and organized woman with a wonderful dry sense of humor. She had a natural ability to make others laugh and was known for her kindness and loving nature. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warmth and generosity.

Chris is survived by her son, Steve M. Dengler and his wife, Audris, of Souderton, PA; her four granddaughters, Tamalei Rose Sharp of Souderton, PA, Alexis Faith Dengler of Souderton, PA, Marissa Lorelei Mockaitis and her husband, Sasha Ralli, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Stephanie Michelle Dengler of Smithfield, NC; her great-grandson, Everette Alexander Mockaitis, of Myrtle Beach, SC; her two sisters, Cindy Joseph of Richlandtown, PA, and Karen Stover of Harleysville, PA; and her two brothers, Greg Dengler and his wife, Sue, of Palm Coast, FL, and Paul Dengler of Beaufort, SC.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 11:00am at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad Street, Souderton, PA 18964.
