Clara Mae (Harrell) Clothier, 100, of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, formerly of Sellersville and Silverdale, Pennsylvania, and Live Oak, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Elm Terrace Gardens.

Clara was the loving wife of the late John E. Bauer and the late John Sterner Clothier, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.

Born in Live Oak, Florida, Clara was the daughter of the late Reamer Harrell and Luna Mae (Lee) Harrell. She graduated from Suwannee High School with the Class of 1943.

Clara was raised on a farm, where she developed a lifelong appreciation for the simple joys of life, the importance of family, and the value of hard work. She later worked as a Civil Service employee for the United States Government in Florida and Virginia.

Above all, Clara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a loving, caring, and generous woman who was always there for others. Her faith in Jesus Christ was a cornerstone of her life, and she faithfully prayed for her family. One of her greatest wishes was that all of her children and grandchildren would know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Clara was a member of Live Oak Church of Christ in Florida. She and her husband enjoyed serving others through the church, preparing monthly meals for senior members of the congregation. She also volunteered as a “Pink Lady” at Live Oak Hospital.

A talented seamstress and cook, Clara found joy in quilting, sewing, flower gardening, and baking. She took great pride in creating beautiful things with her hands and sharing her cooking and talents with others.

Throughout her 100 years, Clara’s life was marked by resilience, grace, faith, and love. She endured profound loss while continuing to celebrate the many blessings and joys that life brought her. Her greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely to her family and the faith she sought to instill in generations to come. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Clara is survived by her four children: Cheryl Lorraine Brenenborg and her husband, Richard, of Bedminster, PA; Andrew “Keith” Clothier and his wife, Meg, of Colmar, PA; Celeste “Rene” Moyer and Dean M. of Sellersville, PA; and J. Sterner Clothier and his wife, Gail, of Ocala, FL. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Clara was preceded in death by her six siblings: Eva Cobb, Curtis Harrell, Marjorie Musgrove, Wilson Harrell, Virgie Freeman, and Pauline Harrell.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, PA 18964, followed by a funeral service at 3:00pm.

A second viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Mount Olive Church of Christ, 5084 153rd Rd., Live Oak, FL 32060, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will take place at Mount Olive Church of Christ Cemetery in Live Oak, Florida.
