Clyde L Leatherman, 81, of Oakland Maryland; formerly of Telford, PA went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at the Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland MD.

Clyde was born on August 2, 1938 in Sellersville, PA to the late Samuel Leatherman and the late Ada (Lewis) Leatherman.

He attended the Franconia Mennonite School.

Clyde was a retired truck driver for Leidy's Meats where he worked for many years. Prior to Leidy's he was employed by Swartley's Heating and Oil and Indian Valley Trucking.

A turning point in Clyde's life was in 1970 when he trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was shortly after baptized at the Faith Baptist Church in Sellersville PA where he was a faithful member for many years. He later joined the Community Baptist Church in Coopersburg PA, and most recently the Mountain Lake Independent Baptist Church in Oakland MD where his son is the pastor. He was a faithful Christian, father and church member.

He had a passion for hunting deer, and small game. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching the game show network. He loved his church, reading biographies and studying his Bible. Clyde enjoyed chatting with old friends while volunteering in the Book Shoppe of the Care & Share Thrift Shoppes, Souderton, PA.

He is survived by his son Dennis Leatherman and his wife Kathy of Oakland MD, his two daughters Debra Snyder and her husband David of Green Lane, PA and Donna Halteman and her husband Barry of Lansdale, PA, two brothers, David Leatherman of Souderton, PA and Ralph Leatherman and his wife Ann of Souderton, PA and a sister Nancy Leatherman of Hatfield, PA., seven grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Leatherman.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Franconia Mennonite Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Mountain Lake Independent Baptist Church building fund (1005 Broadford Road, Oakland, MD 21550.)
