Obituary

Clyde A. Yoder , 91, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Harleysville, PA went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at his residence.

He was the loving husband of Gladys M. (Alderfer) Yoder for 15 years. Clyde was previously married to Lydia (Detweiler) Yoder for 53 years from 1950 to 2003 when she passed away. He was born in Bedminster Twp., PA to the late J. Walter Yoder and the late Grace L. (Alderfer) Yoder.

Clyde was a self-employed farmer at the homestead in Bedminster Twp for many years. He then worked as an electrician for Lilley's Electric in Telford. Later, Clyde became a self-employed electrician doing business as 'Clyde Yoder Electric' in Perkasie, PA while continuing to farm.

Clyde was lifetime member of Blooming Glen Mennonite Church and also attended Salford Mennonite Church with his wife. He volunteered at the MCC Material Resource Center where he filled the relief buckets alongside his wife for 7 years.

He was an avid reader of the Bible and history books. Clyde and Gladys loved bus trips to various places, day trips to Lancaster, and traveling to Florida in the winter for about six years. He enjoyed attending and participating in the Two-Cylinder Club events and shows. Clyde also enjoyed playing board and table games, puzzles, ice cream, seeing other people's farms, and listening to gospel music.

He was a hardworking, kind, generous, devoted, quiet man.

In addition to his wife, Clyde is survived by his two daughters, Sandra Horst & husband, Gale of Reading, PA, Gladys Brand & husband, Alan of Sellersville, PA; his son, W. Dean Yoder of Souderton, PA; his step-son, H. Brent Moyer & companion, Donna Mast of Telford, PA; his two step-daughters, Coleen Bishop & husband, David of Spartansburg, PA, Janet Bartholomew & husband, Mike of Perkiomenville, PA; his sister, Edna Swartley of Canandaigua, NY; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Yoder of Troy; PA; his four grandchildren – Jaron, Marc, Brad & Julia; his five step-grandchildren – Joshua, Ryan, Aaron, Andrea, & Jeff; his seven great-grandchildren – Zoe, Natalia, Sadie, Gavin, Felicity, Aiden, & Benjamin; and his 10 step-great-grandchildren – Norah, Maya, Ian, Peyton, Eric, Ava, Grant, Sadie, Benjamin, & Reid.

In addition to his parents and 1 st wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Delphine Michels; his son, Galen C. Yoder; granddaughter, Charrissa L. Yoder; brother-in-law, Robert Swartley; and his step-daughter-in-law, Gloria Moyer.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 713 Blooming Glen Road; P.O. Box 238, Blooming Glen, Pennsylvania 18911from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.

Burial will take place at Blooming Glen Mennonite Cemetery.
