Obituary

Cody J. Kratz , 25, of Perkiomenville, PA; formerly of Souderton, PA & Telford, PA went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Friday, April 4, 2025.

Cody was born in Sellersville, PA to Richard A. Kratz and Jennifer S. (Derstine) Kratz. He was the loving fiancé of Alessandra R. Talese of Souderton, PA.

Cody graduated from Dock Mennonite Academy in Lansdale, PA, class of 2019.

He began working as a bicycle salesman/repairman for Bikesport in Trappe, PA. He then worked as diesel mechanic/truck washer for H&K Group in Skippack, PA. Cody was a self-employed business owner of Kratz Home Remodeling in Perkiomenville, PA where he worked alongside his father for the last 6 years.

He was a member of a home church called Resurrected Life Communities where he attended with his fiancée, Alessandra.

Cody loved anything that got him outdoors. He had a great love for dirt biking and he frequently attended Breezewood Proving Grounds in Clearville, PA, NJMP Field of Dreams in Millville, NJ, and BC Motocross in Perkasie, PA. He also enjoyed mountain biking, fishing, snowboarding, kayaking, golfing, and building bonfires. He loved spending time with his family; from evenings at home to weekends at Knoebels. You could find him hanging out with his friends working on cars, blasting fireworks, shooting guns at the range, and go-karting. He was a lover of animals including his late dog, Val Val, and his current dog, Willow. No matter what he was doing, or who he was with, it was guaranteed to involve tons of smiles and laughter.

Cody was a helpful and selfless son, always helping around the house. Cody was a patient and loving brother constantly tolerating his sister's shenanigans. Cody was a dependable and loyal friend, who always showed up when you needed him. Cody was a goofball, who had a great sense of humor. Cody was thoughtful and intentional with his time and gift giving in a way that made you feel so loved. Cody was wise beyond his years offering advice and comfort to anyone who needed it. Cody was so many things to so many people and he will be dearly missed by each and every one of us.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his three sisters, Kasondra A. Curry of Lansdale, PA, Alicia J. Curry of Bethlehem, PA, Makayla M. Kratz of Perkiomenville, PA; his two nephews, Zakariah G. Curry and Daniel J. Curry of Lansdale, PA; his paternal grandparents, Richard H. & Tina M. Kratz of Telford, PA; and his paternal great-grandmother, Doris Leatherman of Telford, PA; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Cody was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Kenneth L. & Catherine S. Derstine and his paternal great-grandfather, Harold Leatherman.
