Obituary

Cora Mae (Gettel) Geib , 90, of Harleysville, PA; formerly of Sebring, FL, Perkasie, PA & Manheim, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 4, 2021 at St. Mary Center For Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Lansdale, PA.

She was the loving wife of Harold S. Geib for 70 years. Cora Mae was born in Richland, PA to the late Ammon B. Gettel and the late Leah A. (Heisey) Gettel.

She graduated from Sebring High School in Sebring FL, class of 1949 where she played clarinet in the State Championship Band. Cora Mae went on to attend Elizabethtown College,  Elizabethtown, PA, where she met her husband, Harold.

Cora Mae began working with her father in the family fruit business in Lebanon, PA where she learned her hard-work ethic. She began her career in banking as a teller at the former First National Bank in Elizabethtown, PA.  She went on to become a loan officer for the former Bucks County Bank & Trust in Dublin, PA, and then a bookkeeping manager for the former Florida National Bank in Sebring, FL. She ended her career as an administrative assistant for Wayne Mumbauer, CPA in Harleysville.

She was a hardworking, loving and caring woman of God.

Cora Mae was a member of the Chiques Church of the Brethren in Manheim, PA where she served as a children's director and sang in the choir. After their move to Bucks County in 1968, they became members of the Hatfield Church of the Brethren where she served as a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. During their years in Florida they were members of Sebring Church of the Brethren, Sebring, FL, where she served as an assistant treasurer and sang in the choir. She was a member of Indian Valley Mennonite Church (now known as Indian Valley Faith Fellowship), Harleysville, PA, where she served as choir director, chorister and was active with Women In Mission.

Cora Mae volunteered as a Teacher Aide in Sebring, FL and also volunteered at the Care and Share Thrift Shoppe in Souderton, PA.

Cora Mae enjoyed gardening, baking, reading books, crafting, sewing, crocheting, ceramics and RV Camping . She also loved music and going to gospel music events. Cora Mae and Harold were able to travel to all 50 states and visited over 100 lighthouses, her favorite.  She enjoyed the outdoors especially nature and birds.

But most of all Cora Mae's greatest joy was her family!

In addition to her husband, Cora Mae is survived by her four children, Gary L. Geib (Michele "Shelly") of Harleysville, PA; Ronald B. Geib (Merle Lee ) of Harleysville, PA; Cynthia J. (John) Lisik of Venice, FL & Douglas E. Geib (Louise ) of Telford, PA; her 10 grandchildren – Justin Geib (Sue); Matthew Geib (Leslie); Ali (Greg) Coppola; Katie (Paul) Sigmans; Krista (Drew) Wentz; Seth Lisik, Sarah Beth Lisik; Leah (Mike) Maceroli; Daniel Geib (Katie); & David Geib (Sarah); her 15 great-grandchildren: Owen, Shane, Samantha, Matthew, Jr., Gregory IV, Nicholas, Madelyn, Jack, Reagan, Ellie, Olivia, Jordan, Dylan, Grace, & Theodore; and her sister, Mary Ann (Roger) Killian  of Lititz, PA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Alice Ruth Gingrich & Barbara A. Grubb.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Indian Valley Faith Fellowship, 190 Maple Ave, Harleysville, Pennsylvania 19438 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 am.

Inurnment will take place at Chiques Church, Manheim, PA.
