Darwin Newell Roseberry, 91, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, at his beloved farmstead, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 25, 1935, in Red Oak, Iowa, Darwin spent his early years helping his family on their modest farm in Goldfield, Iowa. The values of hard work, perseverance, and self-reliance that were learned there remained with him throughout his life.

Darwin graduated from Renwick High School and then attended Iowa State Teachers College as an education major, Iowa State College in pre-engineering, and Eagle Grove Junior College also in engineering. After a single semester in junior college, Darwin enlisted in the United States Air Force.

Darwin proudly served and quickly rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant in a mere two and a half years, before separating from the service and pursuing higher education. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Suffolk University and later received his Juris Doctor from New York Law School. He went on to build a distinguished legal career in Pennsylvania, where he practiced law and served his clients and community for many years.

Darwin preferred a simple life, valued family and personal relationships, and measured success by his ability to live according to his convictions. He was a lifelong animal lover. Throughout his life he always made room in his home and heart for pets. He was particularly devoted to the many dogs that shared his life over the years, considering them an important part of his family.

Darwin was man of integrity and will be remembered for his deeply principled and unwavering commitment to doing the right thing.

Darwin is survived by his loving family, including his devoted wife, Barbara Wise, his former wife, Carolyn Roseberry, his children Scott, Susan and Jeffrey and their spouses; his adopted daughters Kelly Moore and her husband, Earl, and Holly Wise as well as his friend, Don Connors; his brother, Doug Roseberry and his wife, Diane. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Vonnie Schaeffer, Adrianne Mangual, Paul Roseberry, Evan Rosa-Roseberry, Sydney Rosa-Roseberry, Kate Roseberry, Ryan Rowlands, Marissa Burd, Andrea Mader, Vanessa Rice and Grayson Moore and their spouses. Darwin also has numerous great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many friends, all of whom he cared for deeply. Darwin and Barbara found a friend in Ned Accor, who began working for them as a farm hand and grew to be a loyal and steadfast companion. Last but not least, Darwin is survived by his most beloved and stalwart Golden Retriever, Molly, who brightened each and every day for him. Darwin had a very special relationship with his granddaughter, Vanessa, who became a nurse in 2022. Vanessa devoted much of her time to taking the absolute best care of Darwin. He loved her dearly and that love was returned tenfold. The entire family is grateful to Vanessa for loving and caring for Darwin so completely.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Darwin and Edna Roseberry, his brother, Thomas Roseberry, and his son, William Roseberry.

In keeping with his wishes, services will be private. Darwin would prefer that family and friends simply remember him in their own way and carry forward the values he lived by.
