Deborah Lee Poloway (Julius / Kopf) went home to be with the Lord on August 27, 2022.

Debbie was born on a chilly winter's day in Somers Point, New Jersey on February 13, 1954 to her parents, Dorothy Barbara and Leon Fire Julius. She grew up in Hatfield, Pennsylvania and graduated from North Penn High School in 1972. Debbie moved to New York shortly after, where her two children were born; son Ian Kopf (wife Janine) and daughter Tavia Almenar Llorens (husband Bernardo).

She returned home, raising her children where she grew up in Hatfield with love and devotion, sharing often that being a Mother was her greatest job and that they were her greatest accomplishment.

She was blessed later in life with finding the love of her life, husband Stephen Poloway, who has been by her side for the past 22 years. With this she was fortunate to gain two step-sons as well, Nick Poloway and Andrew Poloway (wife Courtney).

Debbie was lovingly known as "Nana" to her three grandchildren, Madeleine Kopf, Phoenix Poloway and Damien Poloway, who brought her great joy.

In her professional years, she worked as a Service Manager for Keystone Fire Protection, running an office in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She was known for her intelligence, calm nature, advice giving and strong work ethic. She was most proud though of the relationships she built and the support she gave others.

In 1989 she made the decision to go to rehab, starting her journey in the celebration of recovery. She was involved in founding the AA Clubhouse in Lansdale and was one of the first 10 members of the board of directors; serving for 15 years, sharing and speaking at meetings and sponsoring other women in the program.

Sober for over 30 years, her caring nature led her into prison ministry, where she shared her life story of recovery and faith in Jesus Christ with hundreds, inspiring and supporting many in their journey.

Debbie's greatest legacy however is her caring disposition that she has transferred on to her family. They all experienced something so rare and will continue to help others in her honor. Her family will remember her for her smile that would light up a room, her love for reading, classical music, puzzles, decorating, gardening, and above all her love for her family who always came first.

In addition to her children, daughter-in-laws, sons-in-law, and grandchildren, Debbie is survived by her mother Dorothy Barbara Cassel, older brother Lee Julius Jr. (wife Debbi) and younger brother John Julius. Her father Leon Fire Julius Sr., Step Father Kenneth Ray Cassel and youngest brother William (Billy) Julius preceded her in heaven.

With family and friends being worldwide, a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Debbie donated with her husband to many charities and was a strong supporter of our military service men and women. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project in her name.
