Dolores Mary (Kilroy) Crouthamel , 95, of Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dolores was the daughter of the late Charles Francis Kilroy and the late Mary (Gault) Kilroy. An only child raised in the city, she married the love of her life, Russel Lamar Crouthamel, and embraced country life as part of a large family with his sixteen siblings. Together they shared 69 years of marriage before his passing.
Dolores was a graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School in Philadelphia, Class of 1949.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dolores dedicated her life to her family and her work. She began her career as a bookkeeper for the former J.G. Furniture in Quakertown. During the late 1970s, she worked as a Developmental Specialist at Ridge Crest in Sellersville, where she enjoyed working with young people. She later served as a bookkeeper for Landis Leasing Trucking Company in Tylersport throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, retiring in 1993.
Dolores was a faithful member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Pennsburg and was active in the Prayer Shawl Ministry.
She found joy in knitting, crocheting, flower and vegetable gardening, traveling with her beloved husband, researching her Kilroy family genealogy, and staying connected with family and friends through social media.
Dolores is survived by her six children: Russel Michael Crouthamel and his wife, Jean, of Harleysville; David Lamar Crouthamel and his wife, Regina "Jean," of Allentown; Doreen Marie Oberst of Green Lane; Charles Francis Crouthamel and his wife, Lynn of Port Orange, Florida; Sheila Marie Crouthamel of Pennsburg; and Sharon Anne Nyman and her husband, Bryan, of Pennsburg.
She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Jade, Martina, Thomas, Crystal, Danielle, Cassandra, Zachary, and Karyssa; and her nine great-grandchildren, Finley, Anthony, Nathan, Christiana, Charles, Ayden, Ridge, River, and Rainn.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 East Broad Street, Souderton, PA 18964, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. The service will be Livestreamed.
Inurnment will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, Pennsylvania, where Dolores will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Hospice, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960 or St. Luke's Hospice Development House, 801 Ostrum Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
