Sano, Jr.

Dominick Joseph Sano, Jr. , 91, of Perkasie, Pennsylvania; formerly of Doylestown, Warminster, & Philadelphia went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Pennsburg Manor.
He was the loving husband of the late Evelyn R. (DiCenzo) Sano for 63 years. Dominick was born in New Rochelle, New York to the late Dominick J. Sano, Sr. and the late Palmera (Romeo) Sano.
He attended Northeast High School in Philadelphia, PA. Dominick served with the 16th Recon 1st Calvary Division in the US Army during the Korean War where he received a purple heart. Throughout his working lifetime, he was employed as a Steel Worker for the former Philadelphia Steel & Wire Corporation for 49 years until retiring in 1987. After retiring, he worked as a customer service attendant for the former Genuardi's in Doylestown for 25 years.
Dominick was a member and active volunteer of the John Rivers Memorial VFW Post 11322 in Quakertown. He was also a member of Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Dominick was an avid New York Yankee fan, a collector of their memorabilia, and enjoyed watching them on TV. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Dominick loved family picnics, coaching his children, and being involving in his grandchildren's sporting events. He and his wife enjoyed annual family trips to the New Jersey shore. Dominick loved dogs, was an avid reader of John Patterson books, and enjoyed listening to classic pop music, especially Connie Francis & Frank Sinatra.
He was a hardworking, caring, generous, friendly man who was loved by all.
Dominick is survived by his daughter, Amelia E. Ravert & husband, James of Perkasie, PA; his son, Joseph D. Sano & wife, Janet of Horsham, PA; and his four grandchildren – Danielle, Stacey, Joseph, & Anthony.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Amelia Sano Dena.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 9:00 am – 10:00 am at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 100 Broad St., Hilltown, Pennsylvania 18927, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 am. Because of COVID, everyone is invited to join the family for a time of viewing and a memorial mass but we are limited to 50 people at the cemetery.
Burial will take place on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, PA 18940.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: John Rivers Memorial VFW Post 11322, 41 Belmont Ave, Quakertown, PA 18951 since donations have been limited due to COVID restrictions.
