Obituary

Dorothea M. (Reed) Hirokawa , 89, of Sellersville, PA; formerly of Lansdale, PA & Dublin, PA went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 21, 2022 at The Community at Rockhill in Sellersville, PA.

She was the loving wife of the late George Hirokawa. Dorothea was born in Lansdale, PA to the late Clarence Reed and the late Edna (Wireman) Reed.

She graduated from Lansdale High School, class of 1950.

Dorothea worked as a cashier at the former Ralph's Market in Lansdale, PA, as a waitress for R&S Keystone Diner in Sellersville, PA, as a bookkeeper for the former Eckhart Nursery/Greenhouse in Silverdale, PA, and lastly as a waitress at Koffee Korner (now known as Koffee Korner Cafe) in Lansdale, PA.

She was a life member of North Wales Baptist Church where she served on various church committees. Dorothea was also a member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothea also loved watercolor painting. She was an avid reader who enjoyed crossword puzzles and traveling the world.

Dorothea was a hardworking, kind, honest, generous, compassionate woman who had a good sense of humor and a great smile.

She is survived by her son, Hugh C. Clinton & wife, Marlene of Hummelstown, PA; her two daughters, Beverly D. Clinton-Jensen & husband, Theodore of Pottstown, PA, Susanne L. Ohama & husband, Gary of Perkasie, PA; her eight grandchildren – Katie, Hugh, Kevin, Karen, Emily, Philip, Holly, & Hana; her six great-grandchildren – Adeline, Lyndon, John, Lily, JT, & Jason; and her two brothers, William Reed & wife, Pat of Breiningsville, PA & Terry Reed of Lansford, PA.

In addition to her parents and 1st husband, Hugh J. Clinton, she was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Reese and her brother, Robert "Butch" Reed.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 11:00 am at North Wales Baptist Church, 136 Shearer Street, North Wales, PA 19454, followed by an informal visitation at 12:00 pm.

A private inurnment will take place at North Wales Baptist Cemetery.
