Dorothy "Dottie" Joan (Pienta) Thompson, 91, of Telford, Pennsylvania, formerly of Souderton and Lansdale, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Lutheran Community at Telford.
She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Waldo Thompson, with whom she shared 52 devoted years of marriage. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Edward S. Pienta and the late Helen (Wertz) Pienta.
Dorothy was a 1952 graduate of Shillington High School. She began her career as a bookkeeper with Berks County Trust in Reading and later worked as a medical coder for a local business in the Ambler area. Above all, she cherished her role as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
A faithful member of Christ Reformed Church at Indian Creek in Telford, Dorothy lived her life grounded in faith and service. She found joy in gardening, reading, square dancing, synchronized swimming, and caring for community cats through Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) efforts.
She will be remembered as a compassionate, generous, friendly, and fun-loving woman whose warmth touched many lives.
Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Kim Suzanne Riggall-Gaskin and her husband, Timothy, of Hatfield, PA, and Kristin Sue Schellhamer and her husband, Randy, of Womelsdorf, PA; her three grandchildren, Natalie Hope Schellhamer of Womelsdorf, PA, Shannon Nicole Riggall and her companion, Todd Page, of Charleston, SC, and Daniel Ryan Schellhamer and his wife, Tiffany, of Myerstown, PA; her two great-grandsons, Liam Daniel Schellhamer of Myerstown, PA, and Wilder Frank Page of Charleston, SC; her brother, Edward P. Pienta and his wife, Shirley, of Georgetown, DE; and her three nieces, Patti Jo, Susan, and Marybeth.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Reformed Church at Indian Creek, 171 Church Road, Telford, PA 18969.
A future inurnment alongside her husband will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.
