Douglas "Doug" S. Heller, Sr. , 61, of Souderton, Pennsylvania, and formerly of Green Lane, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Abington–Lansdale Hospital.
He was the husband of Margaret (Hunsberger) Heller. Born in Sellersville, PA, Doug was the son of the late John H. Heller and Shirley Ann (Freed) Heller, who resides in Souderton.
Doug attended Souderton High School and went on to build a lifelong career as a mechanic. He worked for the former Keyser-Miller Ford in Souderton, Bob's Auto Clinic in Lansdale, and the former Sweeney Auto Service in Quakertown. He also spent time assisting his brother at Wes Freed Auto Service, Inc. in Souderton. He was a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Souderton.
Doug loved the outdoors and found joy in fishing, hunting, boating, and spending time in nature. He also had a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, fast cars, and NASCAR. Known for his quiet strength, caring nature, and dry sense of humor, he will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife and mother, Doug is survived by his son, Douglas S. Heller, Jr. of East Greenville, PA; his daughters, Jessica L. Landes-Kelly of Barto, PA, and Jacquelynn M. Heller of Green Lane, PA; and his five grandchildren—Sophia, Johonnah, Tyler, Aurora, and John. He is also survived by his sister, Pamela A. Smith and her husband, Eugene, of Quakertown, PA; and his brother, Philip J. Heller and his wife, Holly, of Souderton, PA.
A viewing will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, PA 18964, followed by a funeral service at 7:30 p.m.
A future inurnment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Souderton.
