Dwight Melvin Land , 81, of Fort Washington, PA; formerly of Bradenton, FL went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 27, 2023 in North Wales, PA.

He was the loving husband of Nancy Carlene (Ulner) Land for 52 years. Dwight was born in National City, CA on August 21, 1941 to the late Eugene R. Land and the late Veda (Stiles) Land.

He graduated from South Mountain High School in Phoenix, AZ, class of 1959. Dwight attended Rhodell School of Aviation, Phoenix, AZ for 2 years and completed a course of study by correspondence through Moody Bible Institute.

He worked in auto mechanics after high school and for three years while serving in the

U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era. He learned the cabinet making trade by working in his father's business, Landson Wood Manufacturing in Phoenix. From 1972 until he retired, Dwight along with his wife served in Christian missions for more than 45 years—most of them with WEC International (WI).  Places of service included Rwanda (maintenance), Liberia (pilot/mechanic), and the WEC HQ in Fort Washington, PA where he served in the publication and maintenance departments. They later served as representatives for WEC International in California and Florida.

Dwight was a former member of the Branch Creek Community Church (now known as LCBC - BranchCreek) in Harleysville, PA where he served on the mission committee and taught adult education classes. During this time, he also had a prison ministry at the Bucks County Correctional Facility. Dwight was a currrent member of Oreland Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

He had an avid interest in flying and enjoyed going to car/air shows. Dwight loved spending time with his family and being involved in family sporting events and activities. He enjoyed reading, traveling, and fixing and repairing everything from generators to aircraft.

Dwight was a devoted and supportive husband, father, and grandfather. He was a friendly, caring, and faithful man. Dwight was a person of spiritual influence, was always generous, knew the value and power of prayer, and volunteered his time helping others.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Martha Franchois & husband, Keith; his son, Stephen Land & wife, Andrea; his four grandchildren, Hannah Franchois, Jeremy Franchois, Kirsten Land and Jordan Land (all of Fort Washington, PA); and his two sisters, Janet Simpson & husband, Clifton of Bayfield, CO, Judy Romesburg & husband, Kerry of St. George, UT.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 4:00 pm at Glenside Bible Church, 447 N Keswick Ave, Glenside, PA 19038, followed by an informal visitation and light meal. A private committal service will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
