Earl Harrison Landis , 90, of Perkasie, PA; went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at his residence.
Earl was the devoted husband of Naomi E. (Schaffer) Landis. They recently celebrated their 65th anniversary. He was born in Plumstead Twp., PA to the late B. Harrison Landis and the late Myrtle S. (Marsh) Landis.
Earl graduated from Hilltown High School as Salutatorian in the class of 1952. He was a member of the Future Farmers of America where he held the position of state Chaplain. He received a diploma from the Philadelphia Bible Institute.
Earl was a self-employed dairy farmer of Pennland Farm in Bedminster Twp., PA for over 60 years. He also worked in the pellet mill for the former Farm Bureau Mill in Souderton, PA, and as a bus driver for Plumstead Christian School in Plumsteadville, PA.
Earl attended Grace Gospel Chapel in Plumsteadville, PA since before he was born, and served as a Sunday school teacher and in the AWANA program.
Earl was a member of various farm organizations over the years. He was a former volunteer for Child Evangelism in Bucks County and with Life Abundant Prison Ministry in Doylestown, PA. As an active member of Gideons International since 1998, he truly enjoyed fellowship with other members, handing out Bibles at schools, airports, and community events. He valued the weekly Gideon prayer meetings at the Keystone Diner.
Earl was a devoted & expressive reader of Bible and history. He was often heard sharing stories of local & family history as he was the 9th consecutive generation living on the family farm. Over the years, he made trips to visit family across the country, Canada & England. Later in life, he enjoyed bus trips with his wife. Other interests include music and picnics.
Earl was a friendly, forbearing, and patient man who was faithful to the Lord and his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five children: Benjamin Landis & wife, Ruth Ann of Gibson, PA, Rebekah Rodriguez & husband, Sergio of Perkasie, PA, Deborah Jaquish & husband, Colonel Douglas W. Jaquish, USAF, Retired, of Bellbrook, OH, Daniel Landis & wife, Jennifer of Perkasie, PA; Mary Beth Kratz & husband, Jay of Boca Raton, FL; his 25 grandchildren – Brian Landis, Stephen Landis & wife, Bethany, Todd Landis & wife, Cinnamon, Rachel Afonso & husband, Leandro, Michael Rodriguez & wife, Erin, Joseph Rodriguez & fiancé, Corinne Sprague, Gabriel Rodriguez, Caleb Jaquish, Anna Grace Miller & husband, Abran, Nathan Jaquish & wife, Jennifer, Daniel Jaquish, Jared Jaquish & fiancé, Emma Spottswood, Jonathan Jaquish, Abigail Jaquish, Jessica Jaquish, Timothy Jaquish, Hannah Landis, Josiah Landis, Elisabeth Haas & husband, Tyler, Phoebe, & Samuel Landis, Aubrielle Heers & husband, Ricky, AJ Kratz & fiancé, Candace Smith, Eleaya Kratz, Kassondra Kratz; his 11 great-grandchildren – Ella, Jacob, & Joy Landis, Bella Rose Afonso, Luna & Mateo Rodriguez, Evelyn, Jane, & Mary Jaquish, Laurel & Beatrice Miller; and his four sisters, Ruth Stiefler of Blasdell, NY, Elsie Dyer & husband, Alan of Tasmania, Australia, Evelyn Morse of Tasmania, Australia, Winifred Heims of Winamac, IN; and his sister-in-law, Jean Landis of New Holland, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Landis, his infant grandson, Sergio Miguel Rodriguez; and his three brothers-in-law, David Stiefler, Peter Morse, and Ernest Heims.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 9:00 am – 10:00 am at Grace Gospel Chapel, Grace Gospel Chapel, 5582 Easton Rd (Route 611), Plumsteadville, PA 18949, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am. The service will be livestreamed.
Burial will take place at Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
