Earle Bruce Mathewson , 77, of Perkasie, Pennsylvania, formerly of Barto and Dublin, entered into rest at his home on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

He was the beloved husband of Marianna (Demosthenous) Mathewson, with whom he shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. Born in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, Earle was the son of the late Bruce Frederick Mathewson, Jr. and the late Emma Irene (Wonder) Blodgett.

Earle was a 1968 graduate of Central Bucks High School in Doylestown and went on to attend Temple University. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Cryptologic Technician during the Vietnam War.

Throughout his life, Earle built a strong and diverse career. He began working as a laborer with the former American Olean Tile Company in Lansdale. He later worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the former Leeds & Northrup in North Wales, followed by a position with FMC Corporation in Colmar. In addition, he served his community as a 911 dispatcher for Bucks County.

A man dedicated to service, Earle volunteered for more than 30 years as a firefighter and paramedic with the Dublin Fire Company. He was also a former member of Montgomery Baptist Church in Colmar.

Earle enjoyed an active and joyful life. He loved playing baseball and racquetball, traveling, and watching television and movies. Drawing and music was especially dear to him—he loved to sing and, in his younger years, was a member of a choir. Known for his warm personality, Earle was hardworking, caring, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He took great joy in making others laugh.

In addition to his loving wife, Earle is survived by his three children: Tabatha Gupta and her husband, Sameer, of Harleysville; Paul Bruce Mathewson and his wife, Jennifer, of Perkasie; and Melina Anne Mathewson and her husband, Michael "Ryan" Hunsicker, of Pennsburg. He is also survived by his eight cherished grandchildren: Alexander, Joshua, Rowyn, Harper, Arya, Olivia, Ryder, and Isla; his sister, Betty Jane Hallman and her husband, Richard, of San Tan Valley, Arizona; and his brother, Richard Charles Hester of Bennettsville, South Carolina.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Emma Irene Mathewson, and his sister-in-law, Judy Hester.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Plumsteadville Inn, 5902 Easton Road, Pipersville, PA 18947.
