Edgar "Egads" Maurer , 87, of Perkasie, PA entered into rest on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at ProMedica formerly ManorCare Health Services, Montgomeryville, PA.

He was the loving husband of the late Rosemarie Joan (Salvaggio) Maurer for 48 years. Edgar was born in Blooming Glen, PA to the late Wilmer F. Maurer and the late Lizzie (Moyer) Maurer.

Edgar was self-employed as a Carpet Cleaner for Steam Way Rug Cleaning for 35 years before retiring in the early 2000's.

He was a former member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Dublin, PA.

Edgar was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved to play cards, and enjoyed bowling and shuffleboard. He spent many hours chopping wood and tending to his wood burning stove. Edgar will be remembered for his mischievous personality. He enjoyed watching the Eagles & Phillies.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna Maurer and companion, Robert of Perkasie: his son, John Maurer & wife Stephanie of Perkasie, his two granddaughters, Stephanie Fegley & husband Christopher of Bethlehem, PA, and Mackenzie Maurer of Perkasie, PA; his grandson, Ryan Maurer of Perkasie, his great-grandson, Kenneth Fegley and his great-granddaughter, Abigail Fegley. His three sisters-in-law, Frances Leniger of Perkasie, PA,  Lucia McCandless, Reading, PA., and Mary Mauer of Souderton, PA.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife Rosemarie, he was preceded in death by his three sisters, LaRue Grass, Verna Paton and Edna Stafford, his three brothers, Paul, Kenneth and Harry Maurer.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, PA 18964 from 12:00 to 1:00pm. A Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 pm.

Burial will take place at St. Luke's Union Cemetery Dublin, PA.
