Edith (Schmitz) Richter , 92, of Richlandtown, PA; formerly of Harleysville, PA & Sellersville, PA entered into rest on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Phoebe Richland Health Care Center.

She was born in Ratheim, Germany to the late Niklaus Schmitz and the late Luise (Neumann) Schmitz.

Edith worked as a child nurse for families in the Philadelphia area. She was the owner of the former Star Restaurant in North Wales, PA. Edith was employed as a cook for the former Longacres Poultry in Franconia for more than 10 years. She also worked part-time as a private caterer in the local area.

Edith was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lansdale where she volunteered in the kitchen with their events.

She enjoyed baking, socializing, and playing Pinochle.

Edith was a hardworking, caring and compassionate woman who was always willing to help others.

She is survived by her daughter, Carla Myers & husband, Russell of Walnutport, PA; her three grandchildren, Brandon S. Myers of Millsboro, DE, Elizabeth M. Myers of Silver Spring, MD, Nathaniel H. Myers of Alexandria, VA; and her sister, Marlies Pendarvis of Lake Tahoe, CA.

In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her son, Michael Richter and her three brothers, Ewald, Paul, and Karl Schmitz.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 10:30 am at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Main St., Lansdale, PA 19446, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am.

Inurnment will take place at Trinity Lutheran Church Columbarium.
