Obituary

Edward "Ed" John Davis , 72, of Telford, PA; formerly of Hatfield, PA entered into rest on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at his residence.

He was the loving husband of the late Joann Davis for 30 years. Ed was born in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania to the late Raymond Earl Davis, Sr. and the late Eleanor Ann (Dubyak) Davis.

He graduated from Bloomsburg High School, class of 1966. Ed then attended Penn State for 2 years.

He was employed as a Land Surveyor for PECO in the Philadelphia area for more than 35 years.

During this time, Ed also worked part-time for the Main Hotel in Hatfield where he was affectionately known as "Big Ed". His last 10 years at PECO, he worked as a Quality Control Receipt Inspector, until retiring in 2000. Since 1996, Ed has owned and operated the Korner Kupboard in Quakertown.

He was a member of the Quakertown Lodge #512 F&AM where he was a Knights Templar and a 32nd degree Mason. Ed was also a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Hatfield.

In his high school years, he was involved in football, wrestling and acting. During his younger years, Ed enjoyed riding motorcycles and watching wrestling matches at the Spectrum. He enjoyed traveling, going to the casino, bee keeping, and listening to music especially country, blues, and jazz. Ed was an avid gun and Johnny Walker Bottle collector. He was a huge EAGLES fan.

Ed was a hardworking, independent, caring man who had a good sense of humor and was very supportive of his family.

He is survived by his two daughters, Bette Jo Horning & husband, Paul of Milford, PA, Ann M. Davis-Thorpe & husband, Charles, Jr. of Blue Bell, PA; his son, John E. Davis of Telford; his eight grandchildren – Joshua, Jordyn, Sgt. Richard, Jesse, Danielle, Dylan, Quinton, & Simon; his three great-grandchildren – Olivia, John, & Deacon; and his sister-in-law, Jeraldine "Jerry" Davis of Wilmington, NC.

In addition to his parents and wife, Ed was preceded in death by his two brothers, Richard Davis & Raymond Davis, Jr. and his sister-in-law, Michele Davis.

A viewing will be held on Monday, October 5, 2020 at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm.

Burial will take place at George Washington Memorial Park in Plymouth Meeting, PA.
