Effie (Cook) Detwiler , 88, of Line Lexington, PA entered into rest on Sunday, August 8, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at her home.

She was the loving wife of the late Richard K. Detwiler for 25 years. Effie was born in Phoenixville, PA to the late Frederick and Majoria (Wilson) Cook.

Effie was employed as a school bus driver for North Penn School District during the 70's up until the late 90's.

She was a former member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hilltown, PA.

Effie was also member of the Lady's Auxiliary, Line Lexington Volunteer Fire Company, Line Lexington, PA.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and aunt, who enjoyed family gatherings. Effie also loved spending time at the family cabin in Sullivan County. Her special interest was trips to theaters, especially to Three Little Bakers and The America Music Theater.

Her personal interest included flower gardening, playing cards, board games and trips with her cronies.

Effie is survived by her daughter, Judy Detwiler of Souderton, PA; her two Sons, Thomas C. Detwiler of Line Lexington, and Michael T. Detwiler and wife Cindy of Souderton, PA; two granddaughters, Tracy (Michael) Clemens and Tara (Robert) Kieser, 7 great grandchildren, Allison, Cameron, Alaina, McKenzie, Ciara, Jonathan and Mason.

In addition to her husband, Richard she was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor Himes.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 15th, 2021 at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, PA from 1:00 to 2:00 pm with a memorial service beginning 2:00 pm.

Inurnment will take place at Hilltown Union Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
