Obituary

Emma "Esther" (Kelly) Bishop , 90, of Plumstead Twp, PA, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

She was the loving wife of late Wayne C. Bishop, Sr. for 67 years.  Esther was born in Buckingham Valley, PA to the late John Edward Kelly and the late Anna Jane (Iatesta) Kelly.

She graduated from Buckingham High School class of 1951.

Esther was a woman of profound dedication and generosity. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Deep Run where she volunteered her time to cook and deliver meals. She served the Central Bucks School District as a cafeteria worker at Gayman Elementary School leaving a positive impact on the school community. In her personal life, she extended her caring nature through volunteering at Pennridge FISH and the Chaplains' office of Doylestown Hospital.  A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Esther's legacy is built on qualities of selflessness and compassion.

Esther loved reading, the Phillies, bowling, and cooking, but her true joy came from caring for her family and friends. Her door was always open, and she was always there to greet you with a smile on her face. Her legacy is one of boundless love, a testament to her immense heart that enriched the lives of her family and friends. Esther will be forever remembered for the selfless love she shared and the indelible mark she left on those fortunate enough to have known her.

She is survived by her two sons, Wayne C. Bishop Jr. and wife, Linda of Hilltown, PA, and Jeffrey L. Bishop of West Rockhill Twp, PA; her five grandchildren, Michael, Wesley & wife Theresa, Christopher & wife Melanie, Trisha and husband, Jonathan, and Bailey; her five great-grandchildren, Madison, Landan, Gwendolyn, Orion, and Hunter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne C. Bishop Sr., her two brothers, John & David Kelly, and her sister, Hazel Polombo.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Presbyterian Church of Deep Run, 16 Irish Meetinghouse Rd., Perkasie, PA 18944.

Inurnment will take place privately at the Presbyterian Church of Deep Run Cemetery.
