Obituary

Ernest "Ernie" Hange , 91, of Perkasie, PA; formerly of Blooming Glen, PA passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022 surrounded by his wife and children at his residence.

He was the loving husband of Naomi Marie (Leatherman) Hange for 70 years. Ernie was born in Sellersville, PA to the late William R. Hange and the late Anna Marie (Kuhn) Hange.

He worked as a carpenter and kitchen installer for more than 60 years. Ernie loved his God, his church, his family, music (playing instruments, singing, or listening to it), and telling detailed stories. He loved traveling the country and beyond, taking many bus trips with Perkiomen Tours. Ernie kept detailed records of places he had been and things he had seen. He loved woodworking and crafted many Chinese checker game boards.

Ernie was a member of Blooming Glen Mennonite Church where he served as church trustee, usher, songleader, sang in the men's quartet, and was a maintenance assistant.

He was a member of the Zion Choral Society and volunteered his time at Spruce Lake, Care & Share Thrift Shoppes, and Mennonite Disaster Service.

Ernie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a hardworking, humorous, witty man who could brighten the room with his presence.

In addition to his wife, Marie, he is survived by his two daughters, Diane Sinkula & husband, Carl of Monroeville, PA, Doreen Beidler of White River Junction, VT; his two sons, Neal Hange & wife, Susan of Perkasie, PA, Kevin Hange & wife, Angie of Telford, PA; his 12 grandchildren – Breanne, Michael, Caitlin, Leah, Carter, Bethany, Jackie, Rochelle, Victoria, Carsen, Caleb, & Cole; his 14 great-grandchildren; his brother, Larry Hange & wife, Judy of Perkasie, PA; and his brother-in-law, John Binsberger of Sellersville, PA.

In addition to his parents, Ernie was preceded in death by his infant sister, Mary Hange; his sister, Darlene Binsberger; and his son-in-law, David Beidler.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 11:00 am at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 713 Blooming Glen Road, Blooming Glen, PA 18911.

A private burial will take place at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church Cemetery.
