Ernest L. Reinford , 89, of Sellersville, formerly of Telford, PA passed away on Saturday, December 17th, 2022 at The Community at Rockhill, Sellersville, PA.
He was the loving husband of the late Mary (Histand) Reinford for 63 years. Ernest was born in Schwenksville, PA to the late Norman S. Reinford and the late Mary T. (Landes) Reinford.
He grew up on a farm in Schwenksville, PA and served with Mennonite Volunteer Services in Iowa City, Iowa from 1956 -1957. Ernest fulfilled his lifelong interest of operating heavy equipment by forming his own business "Ernest L. Reinford Excavating." Following his business career, he drove tractor trailer until his retirement.
He was a member of Souderton Mennonite Church where he served as a custodian for the church and cemetery. Ernest served on the board of Spruce Lake retreat for many years, always willing to haul equipment when needed. Most recently he enjoyed the time spent at Generations in Souderton sharing meals with friends and perfecting his pool skills.
He enjoyed many hours fishing either deep sea or at the Souderton-Harleysville Gun Club.
Ernest is survived by his three daughters, Pattie Mishler & husband Dennis of Brownsburg, IN, Connie Reinford of Telford, PA, and Luanne Grasse & husband Rodney of Chalfont, PA; his two sons, Duane Reinford of Souderton, PA, and Douglas Reinford of Quakertown, PA; his nine grandchildren, Jackie, Andrew, Corbin, Landon, Dalton, Shelly, Randy, Becca and Tom and his nine great-grandchildren, Eivin, Liam, Avery, Finley, Kason, Henry, Hannah, Weston and Clayton. He is also survived by his brother, Floyd L. Reinford & wife Mary Jane of Souderton, PA.
In addition to his wife Mary, he was preceded in death by his three sisters Mary Ellen Hoover,
Martha Reinford and Florence Metz, and his four brothers, Lester, Nelson, Clarence and Norman.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
