Born in Hilltown Township, Pennsylvania, Ethan was the son of Wayne E. Phinney of Hilltown, PA and the late Bonnie Lou (Frazier) Phinney.

Ethan was a graduate of Pennridge High School and went on to attend Beaver College in Glenside, PA, where he completed two years of study. He was employed for 20 years as a Project Manager with Bath Max in Dublin, Pennsylvania where he worked with his father in the family business.

Ethan had many interests and talents. He enjoyed woodworking and working with tools, was an avid reader, and had a deep love for music. He could play music by ear and enjoyed playing both the piano and guitar. He also found joy in vegetable and flower gardening, collecting vinyl records, and spending time with his beloved cat, Lucy. He had a special bond with his grandparents, the late Mark and Shirley Phinney.

Ethan will be remembered as a hardworking, honest, kind, and sensitive man whose gentle spirit touched those who knew him.
