Obituary

Evelyn Elizabeth (Pierson) Hartzell , 81, of Green Lane, PA went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at her residence.

She was the loving wife of the late Grover C. Hartzell for 48 years. Evelyn was born in Lansdale, PA to the late Daniel William Pierson and the late Gertrude Hollis (Krimmel) Pierson.

She attended Upper Perk High School in East Greenville, PA. Evelyn was employed as a seamstress for the former Dauts Sewing Factory in Red Hill for a couple years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Evelyn then worked as a self-employed house cleaner in her local area of Green Lane.

She was an longtime, active member of Perkiomenville Mennonite Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, was part of the Women's Bible Study group, attended joy luncheons, assisted in quilt making, and taught at the Bible school.

Evelyn loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed shopping, fishing, and day bus trips to Lancaster.

Evelyn was a devoted, caring, compassionate woman who always put her all into things and was always willing to help others.

In addition to her companion, Raymond Arnold, she is survived by her four sons, Jeffrey D. Hartzell & wife, Natasha of Lehighton, PA, David Eric Hartzell & wife, Donna of Green Lane, PA, Timothy Allen Hartzell & wife, Cheryl of Green Lane, PA, Gregory Hartzell & wife, Dawn of Rising Sun, MD; her daughter, Jennifer Ann Sames & companion, James Sell of Green Lane, PA; her 13 grandchildren; her 14 great-grandchildren; her brother, Daniel Pierson & wife, Georgianna of Herford, PA; her two sisters, Ann Ullman of Royersford, PA and Mary Erwin of Limerick, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Hartzell.

A viewing will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Perkiomenville Mennonite Church, 1836 Gravel Pike, Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania 18074 from 9:30 am - 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.

Burial will take place at Perkiomenville Mennonite Cemetery.
