Frederick R. Kompass , Jr. , 92, of Sellersville, formerly of Furlong, PA entered into rest on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at his residence.  He passed away shortly after contracting the COVID-19 virus.

He was the loving husband of Mary (Chakos) Kompass for 22 years. Frederick was born in Camden, New Jersey to the late Frederick R. Kompass Sr. and the late Lillian (Steen) Kompass.

A graduate of Upper Darby High School – class of 1947, he then continued his education at Drexel Institute of Technology, University of Pennsylvania, and Princeton Theological Seminary, where he earned his Doctor of Ministry.

Frederick served as a minister in the Presbyterian Church before becoming a licensed Family Therapist.  He eventually became the Director of Training and Education at the Samaritan Center in Lancaster, PA.  After his retirement he spent many years teaching ethics courses as an adjunct professor at several colleges in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Fred was a longtime member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the American Family Therapy Association.  Later in life he converted to the Greek Orthodox Church and joined St. Philip's Eastern Orthodox.

Fred enjoyed tennis, ice skating, and sailing in his younger years and was an avid lifetime chess player who enjoyed reading the bible in Greek and conversing with his friends and family.  He also loved music and opera and greatly supported his daughters in their musical careers.  Later in life he developed a love of Russian language and history, spending much of his free time reading and writing in Russian.

In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by his two daughters, Suzanne Kompass and husband Sean O'Boyle of Bethlehem, PA, and Lynn Kompass and husband Phillip Bush of Columbia, SC, along with his grandson, Spencer Kompass Bush of Columbia, SC.

Fred is preceded in death by both of his sisters, June Kompass Nelson and Betty Kompass Styles Carr.
