Gary Edward Brown , 65, of Harleysville, Pennsylvania, formerly of Lansdale, unexpectedly entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Grand View Hospital.

His family will miss Gary dearly. He passed unexpectedly Thursday morning from a heart attack at home, after which he was taken to Grand View Hospital. He will always be in our memories, and we thank our friends and family for the outpouring of support and love.

He was the loving husband of Karen (Leidy) Brown, with whom he shared 38 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, Gary was the son of the late Paul E. Brown and the late Jean Ellen (Jaworski) Brown. In addition to his devoted wife, Gary is survived by his son, Joshua K. Brown; his daughter, Megan N. Delp and her husband, Alexander; his cherished granddaughter, Ivy Ruth Delp; his brother and sister-in law, James P. and Cynthia Brown; his in-laws, Thomas and Judy Leidy, sister-in-law, Susan Leidy Slack, and many nieces and nephews.

A lifelong learner, Gary was a graduate of North Penn High School, Class of 1978, and earned his bachelor's degree in Accounting from Temple University in 1983. He built a distinguished career in banking and finance, beginning as a commercial loan officer at the former Penn View Savings Bank in Hatfield. He later joined Univest Bank & Trust Company in Souderton, where he rose to the position of Senior Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor with Girard, a Univest Wealth Division.

A man deeply committed to his faith and community, Gary was an active member of Immanuel Leidy's Church, where he most recently consulted as a financial advisor, and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. His dedication extended to numerous organizations, including Allocations Committee for the North Penn United Way, board member for the PennSuburban Chamber of the Greater Montgomery County, Development Committee for the Montgomery Theater, and board member of Peaceful Living. At the time of his passing, he was a board trustee of the North Penn YMCA in Lansdale, where he met his wife in 1984. In 2017, he was honored with the Distinguished Service Award from the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County. He was also inducted into the North Penn YMCA, Hall of Fame in recognition of his many years of service.

He was a passionate and well-traveled golfer, playing many notable courses across the country, most recently at St. Andrews in Scotland. Gary also enjoyed biking, skiing, traveling, reading, and history. Recently, he enjoyed a family trip to Italy, traveling to Scotland with Karen, and late last year visited Germany, Austria, and Hungary along the Danube River with Karen and friends. In his younger years, he loved swimming, playing hockey, baseball, and soccer, moving on to coaching his children's youth teams in soccer, hockey, basketball, and softball. His favorite place to spend time with his family was Valley Forge National Historical Park, and also really enjoyed quality time with extended family such as annual vacations in Avalon, New Jersey and many trips to the Mountain House. Gary attended numerous concerts throughout his life, and loved challenging people to guess classic rock song titles.

Above all, Gary cherished time with his entire family. Known affectionately as "The Silver Fox" and "GB," he was witty, quick with a joke, and amused everyone (including himself) with his fun, dry sense of humor. He will be remembered as a loyal, hardworking, genuinely kind man, who never missed an opportunity to connect with those around him.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Leidy's Church, 276 W. Cherry Lane, Souderton, PA, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m.

A private interment will take place at Immanuel Leidy's Church Cemetery.
