Gladys G. (Gehman) Kolb , 86, of Spring City, PA; formerly of Telford, PA went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Towanda Skilled Nursing Unit.
She was the loving wife of the late Robert Charles Kolb for 41 years. Gladys was born in Franconia Twp., PA to the late LeRoy L. Gehman and the late Esther B. (Hackman) Gehman.
She was employed as a presser for the former Schoenmann Clothing in Souderton, PA. Gladys was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was a former member of the First Mennonite Church in Norristown where she served as a children's Sunday school teacher. Gladys was a member of Vincent Mennonite Church where she served on the kitchen committee and participated in the sewing circle. She was a member of the Gideons International and was a volunteer at the Care & Share Thrift Shoppes in Norristown.
Gladys loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She was an avid reader of novels. Gladys enjoyed vegetable gardening, watching the birds, and playing card games. She also enjoyed traveling, going to the shore, and collecting decks of cards/salt & pepper shakers from the places she had been.
Gladys was a caring, compassionate, faithful, honest woman who had a dry sense of humor and a great laugh.
She is survived by her six children, Robert L. Kolb & wife, Dianna Jean of Lebanon, PA, Shirley Ann Harpel of Perkiomenville, PA, David R. Kolb & wife, Leona of Gillett, PA, Faye G. Hartzler of Wooster, OH, Timothy G. Kolb of Spring City, PA, Donald G. Kolb & wife, Stephanie of Spring City, PA; her 25 grandchildren; her 30 great-grandchildren; her ten siblings, Miriam Halteman of Souderton, PA, Ray Gehman & wife, Louise of Harleysville, PA, Robert Gehman & wife, Edith of Bridgeville, DE, Kenneth Gehman & wife, Ruth of Elroy, PA, Esther Bergey & husband, Harold of Souderton, PA, Kathryn Martin & husband, Larry of Ephrata, PA, LeRoy Gehman & wife, Diane of Pennsburg, PA, Charles Gehman of Souderton, PA, Marilyn Moses & husband, Randy of Palm, PA, Marie Jones & husband, Leroy of Boyertown, PA; and her sister-in-law, Marlene Gehman of Telford, PA.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, David A. Harpel; her brother, Paul Gehman; and her brother-in-law, Elvin Halteman.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and time Vincent Mennonite Church, 39 Seven Stars Road, Spring City, Pennsylvania 19475.
A private burial will take place at Vincent Mennonite Cemetery.
