Obituary

Harold "Ollie" D. Alderfer , 75, of Harleysville, PA; went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 30, 2021.

He was the loving husband of the late Carol Ann (Knechel) Alderfer and they would have celebrated their 53 rd wedding anniversary on June 8, 2021.  Ollie was born in Norristown, PA to the late Isaac K. Alderfer and the late Elizabeth (Detwiler) Alderfer.

He graduated from Christopher Dock Mennonite High School in 1963.  He was drafted into the US Army in 1965.  He served his country for two years in the Vietnam War as a SPC4.  During his tour he was awarded five medals for his service.  Ollie was employed as a Glazier for Alderfer Glass, Telford, PA for 55 years.

He spent much of his time at baseball parks, football fields and wrestling arenas watching his grandsons compete year round.  He enjoyed spending quality time with the whole family around his pool every summer.  Ollie was a great storyteller and everyone who spent time with him knew how proud he was of his girls and his grandsons.  He rarely missed a morning with his breakfast buddies at the Energy Station.  He touched the lives of so many people in so many ways and will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his two loving daughters, Melissa S. Wood & husband, Todd of Quakertown, PA,  & Katrina "Katie" Santora  & husband, Joseph of Perkasie, PA; his six beloved grandsons - Lukas, Noah, Ryan, Joey, Michael & Danny; his sister, Arlene D. Alderfer of Souderton, PA; brother, Richard D. (Louise) Alderfer of Harrisonburg, VA; and Sister-in-law, Mae Alderfer of Sellersville, PA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Alderfer, their newborn daughter, Melanie Ann, two brothers, Robert D. Alderfer and Stanley D. Alderfer and his Step-mother, Esther Alderfer.
