Hiram "Bud" L. Gross , 84, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Huntington Beach, CA. went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Souderton Mennonite Homes, Souderton, PA.
He was the loving husband of Carol A (Detweiler) Gross for 21 years. Bud was born in Sellersville, PA to the late Hiram L. and Mary (Clemens) Gross.
A graduate of Souderton High School class of 1955, he then continued his education at Wheaton College and Purdue University.
He served in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict.
Bud was employed from 1966 to 1996 by Rockwell Aerospace Corporation as an I T Manager, in California.
He was a member of Salford Mennonite Church.
He enjoyed Genealogy, playing computer games, discussing politics and local history and watching football and basketball on TV. He was active with the Mennonite Historians of Eastern PA, Harleysville, PA.
In addition to his wife Carol, he is survived by his son, Brian Scott and his partner, Roger Harris of Washington DC; his three sisters, Mary Lynne Nice husband Duane of Souderton, PA, Patricia Alderfer of Houston, TX and Betty Lou Godshall and husband Robert of New Albany, PA; his brother, David Lee Gross his wife Linda of Souderton, PA; his sister-in-law, Karen Detweiler of Souderton, PA; his brother in law, Ronald Detweiler his wife Cynthia of Okemos, MI;
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evangeline (Cranston) Gross, his brother in law, Leon Alderfer; brother in law, Gerald Detweiler, and his nephew, Jon Randall Alderfer.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, beginning at 2:00pm, at Salford Mennonite Church, 480 Groff's Mill Road, Harleysville, PA 19438.
MASKS MUST BE WORN BY EACH PERSON ATTENDING THE MEMORIAL SERIVCE
