Hobart Henry Fleetman , 80, of Perkasie, PA passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Brittany Pointe Estates.

He was the loving husband of Karen L. (Jeffreys) Fleetman for 40 years. Hobart was born in Butler Township, PA to the late Henry Hobart Fleetman and the late Marian R. (Hoover) Fleetman.

He graduated from Pennridge High School, class of 1958. Hobart also attended Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.

He served in the United States Army at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX as an aquatic survival skills trainer and lifeguard. Hobart worked as a draftsman and later in the engineering department for the former Emico Inc. (Electro-Mechanical Instrument Company) in Perkasie, PA, where he held multiple patents. He then worked as a field service technician for XEROX for 27 years, until retiring in 2001.

Hobart was a former Boy Scout Troop Leader in Perkasie and Texas. He was a member of the former First Church of the Nazarene where he served as a youth group leader and later was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Hobart was larger than life, incredibly active and always on the go, picking up new hobbies and organizing events as he went. He played many sports, from golf and tennis to softball. He was an avid outdoorsmen who loved fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and visiting national parks. Hobart was renowned for his cooking, making some of the best soup and glazed ham that you will ever have.

He was also a good friend who was known for being reliable and always willing to lend a helping hand. Hobart was incredibly intelligent and had a passion for learning (and acquiring) new technologies. Known for his wicked sense of humor, his memory will live on through his many idioms. But most of all, Hobie was a devoted husband and loving father who will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Ilia Marian DeOrzio & husband, Christopher of Phoenixville, PA; his son, Kyle H. Fleetman & wife, Amy of Perkasie, PA; his three granddaughters, Cara Emilie DeOrzio of Phoenixville, PA, Quinn Marian DeOrzio of Phoenixville, PA, & Dahlia Sue of Perkasie, PA; his grandson, Henry Hobart Fleetman of Perkasie, PA; his brother-in-law, John Lukens of Weatherly, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Hobart was preceded in death by his sisters, Donna Lukens & Marjorie R. Godshall and his brother-in-law, Robert L. Godshall.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
