Irene (Hathazi) Stuckey , 98, passed away to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 15, 2020.

Formerly of Fairhill, Hilltown Township (Pennridge School District), Irene moved to Hidden Springs in Souderton to live with her daughter, Andrea, in 2015.

She was the devoted and loving wife of the late Maurice H. Stuckey (of Telford) before his passing in 1973.  Irene and Maurice were married for 30 years, but would have celebrated 77 years of marriage the day prior to Irene's death, had they both lived.

Irene was born in Bethlehem, PA. Her parents were the late Julia Szylagyi Hathazi and the late John Hathazi of Bethlehem and Hellertown.

Irene graduated from Liberty High School in Bethlehem in 1941.

She is survived by her two daughters: Andrea of New York City and Souderton, and Dianne Stuckey Haberle; her Grandson, Jonathan Maurice Haberle; sister, Elsie Huber and her husband, Richard, of Bethlehem; nephew Thomas Roc of Bethlehem; and cousins Judith Szylagyi of Bethlehem and Valerie Petfield of Holland, Michigan.

A devoted mother and wife, Irene was also a great European-menued cook and baker, a seamstress, decorator, gardener and a preserver of the fruits and vegetables from the Fairhill garden and fruit trees. She was also a Girl Scout leader, Pennridge PTA member, and employee of Philco-Ford of Lansdale, a private bookkeeper, an Acme Market manager in Souderton and a Physical Therapy nurse in Souderton.

After Maurice's death at 52, Irene remained on her loved two-acre Fairhill – maintaining and mowing her lawn until age 90 when her doctor declared, "enough mowing already, Irene."

A beautiful woman inside and out, who never saw herself that way, she was a wise and devoted friend, confidant, teacher to her many friends who loved her.

Both Irene and Maurice were role models who lived the "Good Book," and were an inspiration to others.

Irene's funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
