James "Jimmy" J. DeVitis, Jr. , 67, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Conshohocken, PA went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville.

He was the loving companion of Debra "Debbie" A. Van Trieste of Souderton, PA. Jimmy was born in Bryn Mawr, PA to the late James J. DeVitis, Sr. and the late Dorothy (Grablewski) DeVitis.

He graduated from Archbishop Kennedy High School in Conshohocken, class of 1971.

Jimmy worked as a steel worker for the former Alan Wood Steel Company in Conshohocken and the former McCarter Corporation in Norristown, PA. He then worked as a machinist / computer specialist for Cocker-Weber Brush Company in Telford, PA, until retiring in March 2020.

Jimmy was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sellersville where he served on the church council and volunteered his time.

He was a big sports fanatic and was very knowledgeable with statistics and sports history. Jimmy also collected unique sports memorabilia. In his younger years, he played baseball & basketball, coached, and attended all of his sons sporting events. Jimmy enjoyed watching football especially high school sports. He loved to travel and a favorite place of Jimmy and Debbie was visiting the Natural Bridge of Virginia. Jimmy loved spending time with his family especially the grandkids and his extended family. He also loved taking care of his new car, the Chevy Cruze.

Jimmy was a hardworking, caring, loving man who had a unique giggle and a big heart. Debbie loved his blue eyes and will miss squeezing his cheeks.

In addition to his companion, Debbie, he is survived by his step-mother, Elizabeth "Betty" DeVitis of The Villages, FL; his two sons, James J. DeVitis, III of Souderton, PA, Erik A. DeVitis & wife, Dwan of Atlanta, GA; his granddaughter, Brooklynn C. DeVitis of Norristown, PA; his brother, Robert DeVitis of Houston, TX; his four half-siblings, Michael DeVitis of Ardmore, PA, Richard "Ricky" DeVitis & wife, Allison of Havertown, PA, Susan Pennell of Pottstown, PA, & Stephen DeVitis & wife, Ryan of Havertown, PA; his blended family – Angel, David & Michael and their families; and his extended families.

A memorial service will be held sometime in late spring of 2021 at Evangelical Lutheran Church. Please check back in late April for details.

Inurnment will take place at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.
