Jean (Dahmer) Carpenter , 95, of Sellersville, PA; formerly of Doylestown, PA & Buckingham Twp., PA passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Neshaminy Manor.

She was the loving wife of the late Richard Gordon Carpenter. Jean was born in Cass, WV to the late Austin Dayton Dahmer and the late Lillian Grace (Grimes) Dahmer.

She graduated from Frankford High School in Frankford, WV, class of 1947.

Jean worked in purchasing department for Manover's Furniture Store in Penns Park, PA. She then was employed as an office worker for Hendrixson Furniture in Furlong, PA.

Jean was a longtime member of the Women's Club of Bucks County and Lingohocken Garden Club. She was also a member of the Indian Valley Book Club and Talking Teacup Book Club.

Jean was a member of Doylestown Presbyterian Church.

She was an avid reader who enjoyed gardening, playing Solitaire, traveling nationally and internationally, going to plays, and bowling. Jean had a deep love of the theater.

She was a caring, loving, intelligent, wonderful woman.

Jean is survived by her son, Richard "Rick" Grant Carpenter & wife, Lora Beth of Knoxville, TN; her daughter-in-law, Sharon Carpenter of Perkasie, PA; her granddaughter, Sara Jean Carpenter of Perkasie, PA; and her sister, Joan Waugh of Eden, MD.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Gordon Carpenter; her two sisters, Arlene Whitaker & Linda Caballero; and her brother, Frank Dahmer.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on April 29, 2025 at 9:45am, at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, PA 18964.

Inurnment will take place at Doylestown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
