John M. Dormer III , aged 72, of Perkasie, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Surrounded by his wife and children, he faced his final journey with the same quiet courage he showed throughout his life, without a single word of complaint.

He was the beloved husband of Susan K. (Donzé) Dormer, with whom he shared 46 wonderful years of marriage. Born in Abington, Pennsylvania, John was the cherished son of Elizabeth (Kresge) Dormer and John M. Dormer Jr. He grew up to be a protective, loving older brother to Dennis and Debbie, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond throughout his entire life.

John placed his family above all else. He was a constant presence at his children's sporting events, whether he was serving as a volunteer coach for his sons' Pennridge Little League teams or driving countless miles to attend his daughter's high school and college powerlifting competitions. He enjoyed family vacations in New England, especially Maine, attending racing events, and passing his love of racing on to his children and grandchildren. He especially treasured time spent with his grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy. Whether working on a project, fixing something with his hands, or simply staying active, John was happiest when he was busy and surrounded by those he loved.

Known affectionately as "Big John," he was a hardworking, honest, and fiercely loyal man. He was a devoted protector of his family, larger than life in both presence and personality. His quick wit, sarcastic sense of humor, and unwavering authenticity endeared him to all who knew him. John remained true to himself throughout his life and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

John had an ear for good music and appreciated a wide variety of genres, making him an eclectic and enthusiastic listener. As a young man, he dreamed of becoming a race car driver and transformed his 1969 Chevy Camaro into a race car, planning to compete at Pocono Speedway. That chapter of his life took a back seat when he met the love of his life, Susan, and together they built a family that became the center of his world.

John was a 1971 graduate of Upper Moreland High School in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. Throughout his life, he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft, never shying away from an opportunity to share with others his expertise and working hands, when able. He began his career in retail sales with the former Santerian's Department Store in Hatboro – and always had an eye for color and style – and then after a few odd jobs, he spent the rest of his 40+ working years as an auto-electrical mechanic, starting his career at the former Lou's Sunoco in Hatboro where he met the love of his life.

In addition to his wife, Susan, John is survived by his three children: John M. Dormer IV and his wife, Andrea, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; Kelly A. Fry and her husband, Brendan, of Brooklyn, New York; and Michael George Dormer of Perkasie, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his four beloved grandchildren, Anna and Ethan Dormer, and Jalen "JJ" and Jackson "Jacko" Fry; his brother, Dennis Dormer and his wife, Debbie, of New Britain, Pennsylvania; and his sister, Debbie Dormer of Hatboro, Pennsylvania.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Joseph Ambler Inn, 1005 Horsham Road, North Wales, Pennsylvania 19454. The visitation will be followed by a service and luncheon for family and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Peter Frampton Myositis Research Fund , established to support Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM) research, to improve the lives of patients living with IBM and to ultimately find a cure.
