Joseph A. Gerges , 75, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey; went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA.

Joseph was the loving and devoted husband of Samiria (Nona) Gerges for 46 years. Joseph was born in Egypt to the late Awad Youssef Gerges and Bokhtia Riad Gerges.

He is survived by his wife, Nona, his two sons and daughter, John Gerges & wife Cindy of Forest Hill, MD, Sally Saad & husband Fr. Mikhail of Linfield, PA, and Justin Gerges & fiancée Mary Abdelsayed of Teaneck, NJ.

Joseph graduated from Helwan University with a degree in Engineering. Joseph was employed as a Mechanical Engineer for many years before starting his own company and being self-employed for over 10 years. He took great joy in innovation and creating new solutions for each of his clients.

A true man of God, he was a deacon and servant of many Coptic Orthodox churches in the US: St. Mark's in Houston, St. George's of Norristown, St. Mary and St. Mercurius' of Conshohocken, St. Anthony's of Medford, St. Abanoub's of Pottstown, and many others. He served as a Board Member and Treasurer for multiple churches; always serving the church's needs with integrity.

He admired God's handiwork through nature and was passionate about gardening and fishing.

The Wake will be held on Monday, August 8 during St. Mary's Revival from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.

The Funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 11:00 am, preceded by a Liturgy at 9:00am.

All services will be held at St. Mary and St. Mercurius Coptic Orthodox Church, 209 West 5th Avenue, Conshohocken, PA 19428.  Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, 199 Matsonford Road, Conshohocken, PA.
